So all can Love this Game

We exist to impact lives through golf. By creating access to the game and industry we are developing lifelong players, future leaders, and creating lasting communities for today, tomorrow and generations to come.

Why golf?

To us, golf is more than a game — it’s a path forward, it helps us create community, allows us to get outside and celebrate the big and small moments. Golf is a connecting point where our differences don’t matter, and where all of us get the chance to be ourselves. For those reasons, and so many others, are why we are steadfast to ensure all can learn to love this game.

Plain and simple, more and more people are playing and enjoying the game of golf. In 2023, 45 million people in the U.S. participated in the game both on and off the course. Additionally, golf is a $102 billion industry — making opportunities limitless for one to pursue their dream career.

It’s about creating invitation and access to the game — we do this in three ways.
Youth
In 2025, 3,096 PGA Jr. League Scholarships gave kids the chance to learn, play, and grow together through the game of golf – all through a fun, team environment.
Military
In its ten-year history, more than 65,000 Veterans have been served through the power of golf and PGA HOPE — creating newfound community and wellness.
Underserved Communities
Since 2017, PGA WORKS has created opportunity for 150 college graduates to make an impact in the game of golf, shaping future leaders both in the game and beyond.

For the first time in the event’s ten-year history, a team entirely composed of Vietnam War Veterans will compete this weekend in the 2026 PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup presented by American Airlines. It is a milestone that carries far more weight than the competition. The team from the Carolinas PGA Section represents a generation that once returned home to silence and misunderstanding, but now is moving forward together in community and renewed purpose.
Congratulations to the champions who have etched their names in the history books for the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship.
PGA Head Professional Clay Myers and PGA Director of Coaching Justin Martin Reflect on Championship’s Impact
There’s a lot to be said for leaving a legacy. For Maria Villamil, golf runs deep in her family roots. Growing up in Colombia she set out from a young age to achieve her dream of playing collegiate golf in the United States. After achieving that dream and more, little did she know where the game would take her.
Sometimes golf can find us in unexpected ways and take us along a journey we never even thought was possible. From student-athlete, to pre-dental student, to now working in golf. The game has certainly created new opportunities for PGA WORKS Fellow Shandiin Harper.
